Default Infrared Thermometer

Anyone have a 'point-n-shoot' style infrared thermometer in their tool arsenal? How do you like it? How much did it cost? Where did you get it? Nosey sob aren't I. Thanks.

I have one that I bought at radio shack for about $50. I use mine to tune my R/C truck by checking the head temperature. It seems to work well enough and when the performance of the truck says its getting too hot the therm. backs it up consistently.

Harbor Freight has one for $19.99. The more traditional ones are $39.99. They're great for reading air temps from AC vents and a million other uses.

I've read that you can check Catalytic Converters, Exhaust Systems, Tire Surface Temp., and Radiators.

Harbor Freight has them for $20. We use it to check tires on the motorhome when we stop. Also used it two years ago to take daily temperatures of myself and the DW.

I use mine for A/C work, checking the temperature of my oil/wax rust proofing mixture (180 degrees F), even some baking
