04 Vue 2.2L Cranks won’t start

Car ran when parked, sat about a year now cranks but won’t start.
I connected scanner and it powered up my scanner but no communication with data link.
Fuel pump does not kick on when keyed to on position but pumps when I jump the relay
Tried starting with starting fluid got nothing
Fuel gauge shows empty when I know there’s about a half tank in it
Jeez what else I’ve checked fuses and swapped some interchangeable relays and got nothing any ideas? Any help much appreciated

1) Regarding scanner, have you used that scanner with this car before. Saturn has an issue with some scanner tools.

2) Fuel pump doesn't run.. If you listen, the pump should run for a about two seconds when the key is first turned to IGN.. listen for this..

3) Wont start with starting fluid....

My initial thoughts are that you jumped timing.. But if the fuel pump isn't doing its initial 2 second run, and the scan tool isn't reading, this kind of points to something else.

Check, re-tighten all electrical connections. (i.e. back the connector nut / bolt off 1/2 turn, then re-tighten.

There is a ground connection wire on the ECM, loosen, then re-tighten.
