Default if I were to sell my Saturn, how much would you pay?

hey all,

just testing the waters here....

'94 SL2 5spd trans., 202K miles, loaded--A/C, ABS, P/S, P/B, sunroof, mobile phone built-in, leather seats.

replaced stereo with JVC MP3/CD unit,

replaced both ECT sensors,

replaced front pads and discs,

new cam cover gasket,

new plugs/wires 10K miles ago,

new belt and belt tensioner,

new top engine mount,

new KYB struts and mounts all around.

alignment recently done.

radiator replaced apx. four years ago.

engine block rebuilt at 109K miles--new timing chain at that time.

clutch is original and slips upon high revs, but driving normally is OK.

Well, what do you think???

I'd pay about $1,000. Ask $1,500, accept no less than about $800.

The mileage will kill you.

Yeah, even though it does sound fantastic.. the 202K miles just is a total turnaway. I'd probably drop $700 on it.

Wouldn't pay any more than $1000. The miles and years are what kill it. How rebuilt is the engine--that makes the $1000 easier to get. Like spencer said--ask $1500.

Yea, especially with a clutch that will need replacing in a while, no more than $1000.

I wouldn't buy yours, in fact I have an extra one myself... a 95 SL2 with 152,000 on it.

You wouldn't be interested, right? (just kidding).

Actually, I have a buyer lined up - she'll buy it if my wife would teach her how to drive a stick. Unfortunately, my wife tore a ligament in her rknee and and at this time can't drive a stick herself.

My '95 SW2 is 176K and still going strong. I just invested a small fortune into the transmission recently, but never had any trouble with it otherwise. I figure that it's paid for, doesn't owe me a thing, is reliable and in great shape; this is the last car I'm going to buy, and I'm going to keep driving it until I can't fix it anymore! It may not be worth much on the used car market, but to me it's priceless!
