Default Adjusting/Removing Front License Plate Cover (LS2)

About 2 weeks ago, I bought a new 2000 LS2, and have noticed that my front license plate cover is crooked. I unscrewed the Saturn plate to get to the plate cover, but it looks like it is held in place by bolts from the back (i.e., from behind the bumper). Does anyone know if there's a fairly easy way to get access to this? It's not urgent, it just sort of claws at my obsessive/compulsive nature. Thanks!

Default Plate bracket

I hear the license plate bracket is held on by plastic clips. In other words, the cover just snaps onto the bumper. However, I'm not sure, and it's this uncertainty that has prevented me from taking off the bracket in fear of damaging the bumper itself. I've been wanting to take off the front bracket for over a year now....the ugliness is getting to me. Plus, considering it's size, I'm sure it's costing me at least 0.2 miles per gallon on the freeway due to disruption of aerodynamics. =)

Good luck in your quest.

Default Adjusting/Removing Front License Plate Cover

The LS front plate brackets are held on with pop rivets. To the owner whose bracket is crooked. Take the car back to the retail facility. They should be able to straighten it. To the owner who doesn't want the bracket on. drill off the heads of the rivets, the bracket will come off. There will be 3 holes in the front fascia . The holes could be plugged with plastic retainers to make the fascia look less unsightly
