Default No Condenser Push Fan ? Are You Serious ?

My A/C in my SL2 has only been getting cool while moving and gets nothing but normal Blower Air at stop lights. Everything on the gauges has correct pressures. From what I can tell looking on Google, "S" Series didn't have Push Fans and I don't see one under the front but can't really see well due to the Splash Pan. If it's 80 degrees out and low humidity it cools fine. But 95 degrees and 40% humidity, the problem starts. I know that Temperature and Humidity plays a role with A/C cooling, but I wouldn't think THAT poorly. How could it cool at idle when it's without one ? I couldn't find anything in the search tap on it. Please confirm this and what Saturn was thinking not using one, or am I just missing something here.

The condenser is mounted in front of the radiator. The fan is on when the AC is on. I found the fan had failed on the '99 a couple of years ago when I had the same symptom - no AC at stoplights.

Hopefully I understood your question.

The S-Series fan has 1 mode..."HIGH". It push's more air than 95% of aftermarket options and cooling the big HP turbo car's is only a problem because they can't fit the stock fan.

If you can't feel a breeze standing at the rear bumper with the fan on, it's either a crap replacement fan or it has failed.

But is there one fan from the Radiator that cools the condenser, or a separate one for each ? My L Series had 2. When I look-up a condenser fan online, only a Radiator fan comes up, no condenser fan. Our Nissan delivery trucks don't use a condenser fan, the radiator fan cools it. That was what I was asking.

The radiator fan you are looking for is on the back side of the radiator. They are a draw style fan and pull air thru the condenser and radiator.

A failed radiator fan motor will exhibit the exact symptoms you describe.

Easy to test, turn on the ac and look under the hood. If you hear/see the fan blowing a lot of air it's good. If the air flow is weak or there is none then my money is on a bad fan motor

The fan motor is pretty easy and cheap to replace, too.

I had a bad fan a couple of weeks ago and replaced it. It's working now because it kicks on with the A/C. I could put a universal push/pull fan on the condenser at the front, if there's room and tap into the radiator fan wires. That's my idea. It has that Warmer Air at a stop thing going on as I stated in another thread. Gotta be something, probably heat and humidity. When You rev the engine to about 2500, it gets colder but not at normal idle. Today it worked fine, it was only 80 degrees. The compressor is a Reman because it's black and factory is silver. I don't like Aftermarket compressors, they tend to fail a lot.

What are operating pressures with 2k rpm? Center vent temps?

Does your fan come on at all?

Your fan should come on without A/C once the needle reaches the halfway mark between C and H. It might take a bit before it does, but the needle should just about start pointing off the hash mark on its way to H when the fan kick on.

I'd double check that too just in case so you don't have an overheat problem.
