Hello there,
I am a newbie to this forum but know enough to fix minor problems in my car. After this year's snowy Canadian winter, my horn stopped working. I checked under the hood and the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and it blew again. I tried a 15 amp fuse and that also blew. I tried to check the horn to see if it was melted or a nicked wire but every thing seems ok. My car has no electrical problems and there have been no alterations to the electrical system. I was going through the forums and noticed a post by some one to use a Bosch relay and bypass the oem horn. Is there anything that I may be missing in my troubleshooting or if is there a way I can modify the 3 wire configuration and use a relay to install a regular 2 connector horn. I have checked with my local Saturn dealer for this OEM horn. It is a special order for $80 + tax. Any help or suggestion will be much appreciated. |

Try unplugging the horn and reinsert a new fuse. Even go a far as hitting the horn buttons. If it still blows then there is a problem with the wiring, if it doesnt, its a problem with the horn itself.

You might try a boneyard for a replacement horn.

I went to the junk yard for 3 horns before I found one that worked. It was also a (2) terminal horn. My 96' SC2 had a 3 terminal plug so I tested each one with a multimeter to find out which ones completed a circuit when the horn button was pressed. It works OK now. Last week I was shopping at Harbor Frieght tools and found the exact same horn NEW for about $10!!. If I remember right the horn is made in France. It is a (2) terminal horn (for 95 and older Saturns??) and is identical to OEM. Hope that helps.
