Have lost a fkn top nut on one arm of my windshield wiper.
Anyone know what the thread and size is for these? I'd take the other one off and go to the closest hardware store but I scare myself holding the only one I have left. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Gramps |

What year is your Vue?
The wiper arm nuts for a 2002-2007 Vue are GM p/n 11588999. The size is M8 x 1.25 which should be easy to find at a hardware store. Dorman p/n 982-008 or 982-008D would be compatible and most auto parts carry these in stock. The torque spec is 20 lb ft. The wiper arm nuts for a 2008-2010 Vue are GM p/n 11609634. The size is M10 x 1.25. These are fine thread nuts and may be a bit harder to find at a hardware store because M10 fasteners usually have a 1.50 thread pitch. Dorman p/n 983-110 or 983-110D would be compatible and many auto parts carry these in stock. The torque spec is 18 lb ft for this application. You will want to use flanged nuts. The OEM parts and all of the Dorman parts I recommended are flanged nuts.

For a 2002-2007 Vue, the wiper arm nuts you're looking for are GM part number 11588999. These nuts are M8 x 1.25 in size, which should be relatively easy to find at a hardware store. If you're looking for compatible aftermarket options, Dorman part numbers 982-008 or 982-008D should work, and most auto parts stores carry them. The recommended torque specification for these nuts is 20 lb ft.
On the other hand, if you have a 2008-2010 Vue, you'll need wiper arm nuts with GM part number 11609634. These nuts are M10 x 1.25 in size and have a fine thread, which might be a bit harder to find at a hardware store since M10 fasteners usually have a 1.50 thread pitch. However, many auto parts stores carry compatible options like Dorman part numbers 983-110 or 983-110D. The recommended torque specification for these nuts is 18 lb ft. |
