Default Water on the driver floor

So yesterday I noticed that my driver side mat was wet on my 01 L200. The floor is dry but the carpet mat itself is wet. Its very slight and only on the bottom left corner. But its rained for a few days here and its gotten wet enough that its concerning me. Before I bring it in to a shop, are there any usual suspects for me to check out?

Thanks in advance

It could have come from your wet feet in the rain. Mechanically, I would suspect the heater core. Is there a sweetish smell to this moisture?

Heater core o rings usually leak on the Passenger side. Drivers side is usually blocked sunroof drains.

Nope, its way too much to come from my feet. Also I forgot to mention I dont have a sunroof. Any other guesses?

Check the A/C drain on the drivers side of the firewall/bulkhead. It will be down and to the left of the heater hoses. You can reach it from the top. Try pinching it with your fingers and see if any water comes out. It is also easily pulled off by hand.

My door seals look.... like door seals? They don't look damaged or squished. And I made sure there isnt alot of gunk in them. Its definitely rain water. It rained today and there was the usual wet spot. My headliner is dry and nothing above that spot (dash, steering wheel) seem to be wet.

Sounds like a possible windshield or body seam leak. Easy way to fix it is take it somewhere that do these kind of repairs(some body shops do). Have you tried cleaning out the drain like I suggested?

I tried looking for it, but I'm not 100% sure of what I'm looking for, and I wasn't about to just start playing with the hoses

Dazed Re: Water on the driver floor

Same thing with my L-200, it WAS my heater core. The water usually does leak on the passenger side, but in my case the wireing harness interfered with the coolant flow and it showed up on the driver's side!! Good Luck!
