Default TPS CE light, replaced TPS, light came back!

i have a 99 sl1 that had a CE light. had the code pulled and it was the following:

P0122
TPS/Pedal Position
Sensor A
Circuit Low Input

so i replaced the TPS and the car still idles high (1500+ rpm), studders a bit, and the CE light came back on. the battery was disconnected for about 10 minutes while putting the new TPS in, so that should have cleared the code.

what should i do next?

Been there; done that; got the t-shirt. Make sure you are not mistaking a bad TPS connector for a bad TPS.

i take it that what happened to you then. was it corrosion build up on the metal prongs of the terminal, or bad wiring before the connector it self? i guess i will just look at it in the morning

Terminals of the connector were loose. I bought a pigtail replacement.

Where did you find the new pigtail? By new, you don't mean boneyard, right?
