I live in Dallas TX and I decided to drive to Atlanta GA for a business meeting rather than fly. I have taken a few shorter trips in the VUE, like San Antonio and Houston, but not as far as Atlanta. I drove a total of 785 miles in about 12 hours.. Nonstop.
The VUE handed excellently. I have the VTI transmission with a 2.2 liter engine and both performed great! I especially liked how the transmission operated because I used to cruise control for about 10 hours of the 12 that I drove. There wasn’t a constant search for the right gear when I would go up and down hills. It would just adjust itself perfectly according to the situation. I got out 27 to 28 miles a gallon. With all of the bad press that we hear, I just wanted to say how pleased I am with my purchase. I think that with any car you’ll have your occasional glitches, but overall it is a solid car that performs well, and looks good too. Just wanted to spread a little bit of good news! |

YIKES!!! I'd be renting a car just to keep the miles off, but thats just me....Glad your trip was troublefree....You have to understand some people here will moan, groan, and gripe about their VUE's problems but come to defend it when a magazine points out a flaw.
Happy Vueing ![]() |
