In skimming old posts, I saw there have been several about tires and wet-road performance or whatever. I think it was all about the 16s & maybe the 17s.
What about you guys with the Redline? What's your impression of those tires? Good dry performance? Good wet performance? Would you get those tires again on purpose? |

My $.02 -- they do very well on dry, and very well in the wet. A great balance. They seem to be wearing at a reasonable rate, especially considering the number of rapid takeoffs and high-G curves I go through ( hilly, curvy country highway at 60 to 70 MPH as part of my daily commute

Cool, thanks. So you wouldn't have a problem buying another set of those?
What do you mean by more aggressive? Like more of a performance/summer only tire and not an all-season? I suppose all season probably isn't too much of a concern in DFW, is it? ![]() |

I know I can be a bit picky when it comes to tires. I personally don't care for the road noise of the Bridgestone tires. I don't drive it enough for much more than that. The wife drives it everyday so I only get short times behind the wheel. When I have been in wet/ dry etc they have seemed to be just fine. I am still waiting for snow this winter to see how the act in that.

I hate the ones i have they suck i know i dont have a redline but i have 225/50 17's goodyear eagle ra or something they suck AZZ they have no stickyness to them i can lay a patch of rubber about a block and half with my mostly stock 2.2 and when it is wet it feels like i am slipping everywhere i took this out east and went in the mountains and it rained i was scared to death these tires suck do not get them for anything unless you live in dryer climates without major mountains to climb...thats my opinion and these arent cheap tires they are like 130$ a piece and they arent worth it....i would say look into the new pirelli tires or even some of the nitto tires i try to stay away from goodyear or the ones that came stock started with a Bridgestone I like aggressive tread and will be getting some kumhos soon or even the new fuzion tire they seem to be a nice mixture other then that all oem tires basically suck i think

In a pretty significant rainstorn out here in February, I couldn't get them to break loose up hill on a hairpin while floored. I wanted to test the AWD and rubber and they have been very impressive.

Very smooth riding tire because of the smaller tread blocks.
Totally silent on some road surfaces, and a real singer on others. Dry traction is hard to determine with AWD, but it's easy to get the fronts to squirm before the rear catches up. Wet traction is good, but again AWD hides any faults. Very stable tire with slow turn in and moderate levels of grip both wet and dry. Linear feedback as slip angles increase. Very stable under braking, tracks straight, and doesn't tug the wheel when hitting puddles. All in all, a very good OEM tire. |

Well put Ghostrider. I am amazed at how straight they run, even under hard braking. They don't get sloppy when they are hot, so far as I've found. I push mine pretty hard, the edges of my tires are starting to wear a little quicker than the rest -- a little excessive speed in the corners.
![]() What I meant by aggressive tread pattern is something a little closer to a street race pattern. I don't want to kill my wet traction as that is still a big concern for me, but yeah, snow and ice traction really doesn't make any difference to me, since if there is white stuff on the ground, there's no way I'm driving the 50 mile round trip to work. That's why I have a laptop and VPN. ![]()
