Could someone point me in the direction to a step-by-step for installing aftermarket wires? My MSDs came in today and don't have directions.
Thanks, -Rob |

4-1-2-3...they should already be on there the right way, so heres what you do. Take out the two bolts on the distribution block or whatever its called. The key is to do these one at a time, but its not hard. Take off your first wire, from the plug and elsewhere, find the same size wire for the new ones, and put it on. Do this for the rest of them, ONE AT A TIME!, clamp the seperator thingy, and put the bolts back on. Then just make sure your wires on are on good and youre set. Easy as pie.

Yeah. Basically take old wires out and put new ones in (in the same order). Although the cool thing with the wasted-spark system is that as long as the 1&4 wires are on the right coil and the 2&3 on the right coil it doesn't matter which position they are plugged into on the coil since it fires both at the same time. Very cool. I guess.

Sounds good. Thanks for the tips. Just didn't know if there was something I should know in particular before doing it.

make sure you put them back on the same order. there's a sticker under the hood that shows cyl order and wire order. 1-2-3-4 on the engine to 4-1-2-3 on the coil. also on 96 and later make sure you use the clip that holds 4 and 1 together on the coils.

I just did it one at a time and replaced them in sequence, making sure each one went to the corresponding boot. The car is running well now, so I guess I did it right. It'd be pretty obvious if I got it wrong, right?
Thanks, -Rob |

Your engine misfiring would be pretty obvious. Did the wires just slip right off?
One question, did you have to disconnect the negative batter terminal? I know there's really high voltage coming through those wires when the car is on. Is there a chance of a jolt with car off, but the battery still connected?

make sure the engine is off before you try to replace them or you *will* get shocked.
