Default Changed trans. fluid to synthic, only 4.5 qt!

I'm doing the reverse slam fix. I changed the filter/fluid and used syn. fluid
but it only took 4.5 quarts. I found out the TC has old fluid in it. Is there
a way to blow out all 7 quarts? Whats going to happen now that I have
regular trans. fluid mixed with syn. fluid? I have not driven the car, but
have had it in drive for a minute or two.

Thank you for your time and help.

Thats normal, it will be fine. If you want to get more of the old out, you fill it, run it around a while, and repeat the drain/refill. I'd consider just leaving it till next 30K change though, it is fine.

There is a way but, I won't recommend it. Years ago my brother had a radiator that leaked into the transmission cooling compartment. We got some friends together, pulled the bottom transmission line at the radiator and put a bucket under it, started the car, and poured new fluid in while the tranny pumped fluid out till it ran clear. It took about 24 quarts. The extra guys were swapping drain buckets and opening cans while this was going on. In case you're wondering, ATF with coolant in it looks like Pepto Bismol.
...
There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action.

That's pretty clever! An awful lot cheaper than pulling the transmission apart and cleaning it up.

Oh and I did a transmission fluid change last weekend. 4.5 quarts of fluid.
