Default ? about bumper pad

Can anyone that has one tell me if it makes the rear door tighter to the bumper?

My door already is very close to rubbing on the bumper, so I don't want to make it rub. But would really like to get one to cover some scratches.

ALso... I just added the door panels, they look great on the Yellow. Plus it covered some flaws in my paint. And the doors feel more solid when closing.

My rear hatch clears the bumper pad but I haven't looked at how much room I have to spare.

Bumper pads, rear air deflectors and tinted windows come "standard" on all VUEs sold through either one of the Saturn dealers in town.

If I had to guess, I'd say there is about 1/2" between the bottom edge of the hatch and the bumper pad.

No way the pad will get in the way of the hatch closing

That's a shame that they do that to pad their numbers.

True, but the VUE looks better with the rear air deflector. And tinted windows are a must (although I could have had it done elsewhere for about half the cost). And the bumper pad is nice since we tore up the bumper on our Mountaineer pretty easily.

So whatever. There is certainly no shortage of VUEs on the streets in town. You can easily spot an out of town VUE by its lack of those 3 things.

I don't really like any of the additional things like deflectors or the like... I like the lines of the VUE without them. It would be enough to make me go out of town if I were in that area, to make my purchase.

I responded to the other post before I read this one. To make it short, mine does not scrape the door. Its a great investment in my opinion. The factory bumper easily gets scratched, at least mine did from boxes, wood, basically everything I placed in the Vue. The bumper pad does not scratch at all and adds a good look to the Vue.

I do remember seeing a post from some members who coplained about it rubbing.

Mine rubs on the lower left corner enough to have slightly chiped the paint around the edge of thee gate. I havn't messed with this much to try to readjust it but I do have to periodically touch up that spot.

See and I think they look goofy without it.

But back on topic- get that pad. When installed right, it shouldn't rub.
