2000 L-Series 3.0L Sedan
Cool adding some "20 inch rims to my new redline

I purchased a silver nickle rl, while I like the tires and wheels that are OEM, I want to add some "flava" to my ride. Has anyone had any experience with any
wheel/tire package other than the OEM? 20 inch "Chome or Black rims only need apply". (And no, those "spinners" look stupid, and besides who spends an extra
$4000.00 for that?)

There have been a few Vue owners who have gotten dubs.... search the forums and the gallery. Just make sure you get the right bolt pattern. Check with your dealer on that, I don't remember exactly what it is offhand, but I want to say it's 5x115 or 118, I don't remember... I know that it's slightly off from a very common bolt pattern, so your choice may be somewhat limited.

Also, what kinda stickies are you gonna wrap that "flava" with? Have you considered having your OEM wheels chromed? One guy on here did that and it looked great, and I'm not a big fan of shiny wheels. I prefer gunmetal gray or the silver that they came with. I usually don't like really dark or really shiny... The rest of the car isn't that bright, why should the wheels be? At least that's how I see it.... Then again, I'm not a huge fan of chrome trim either, which explains why I loved the RL package so much -- no tacky chrome to get dented up!

I'm looking at these right here for my black RL.

http://www.bigwheels.net/?location=w...el_vehicle=VUE

Check out their selection too, seems to be quite a bit for our VUEs.

Oh and 5x114.3 (5x4.5) seems to be our pattern according to that site.

SoCal,

Where in the world did you find this web site? I have never seen this large of a selection for the REDLINE VUE. It might take me 2 weeks just to go
through all of the brands, and through all of the styles. I now know where every
wheel shop in the ATL orders their wheels from. Man do I owe you bigtime! Most of the prices I can live with.

Dude, those would look awesome on a black Vue. I love black/polished lip wheels on black cars. I say go for it. Just be sure and post pictures when you have your new shoes mounted.

Yep, just got to wait a few paydays and they should be mine.

Can anyone confirm that the bolt pattern is the same for the redline as it is for a regular VUE? That site only lists the VUE as a model, non-redline I'm guessing, but I have a feeling they are the same.

I've seen people putting RL rims on the standard vue with no mention of hub exchanges, so my money is on the bolt patters being exactly the same.

The bolt patterns are the same and it is 5x115

I have 20" Foose Speedsters on mine (I am probably having the spokes painted black in the winter cause I like black wheels with polished lips better than all chrome) and I didn't want to dish out $750 a wheel for the black 3-piece Speedsters on a daily driver.

Yes it is. The Redline doesn't get any brake upgrades, so there's no reason for them to change the hubs.

I saw someone with a black RLV with red pin stripes and the spoiler on the back on 9/6/05 on Oakland Park Blvd in Sunrise Florida with what looked like 20' rims. Budman, was that you? I work for Fedex and always see somebody with a another black RLV on 103rd and 44th Street in Sunrise.

I really think the 20" Rides better (sold my 18" to my friend) - definately the non RL -should be 18 vs 17...

Although I also think the DVD/TV Tuner makes the ride better too~
