Default rear bumper pad

I just ordered a rear bumper pad for my 04 Vue. I know several of the people posting have these. I'm not very mechanically inclined. How are these installed? Do any screws have to be loosened or mouldings removed? Could I please get some responses? Thanks.

Pretty simple really...just line it up, peel and stick! Make sure the surface is CLEAN before you start.

The pad should include an instruction sheet. Both of mine did.

If you can use a pair of scissors (not that you have to with the bumper pad, it's just an example), you'll have no trouble with this.

What made you decide to get a pad? I thought about it, but mine has the black rubber/plastic bumper, so I decided I did not need one. I have one on the painted bumper of my Chrysler van and my mother in law has one on the painted bumper of her PT, so I understand the value of one. You must have a painted bumper, right?

Easy to install. Think of it as a super big plastic sticker. Just be careful before you press firmly in place. Have someone agree that it looks aligned and balanced.

The stock blackish gray bumper scatches really easy. Many of us on here have found that out the hard way when loading stuff into the Vue. The bumper pad is more than worth it if you want to keep your bumper looking its best. It was the first thing I bought when I got my Vue, along with the Cargo mat.

There was a 2" gouge in my bumper cover when I bought the car. The pad hides it perfectly.

Actually, I have the gray plastic bumpers, but as one poster replied it helps to prevent scratches. I was loading a bicycle last fall and accidently put a scratch on my bumper, not huge but kind of annoying. Plus, I think they add a little to the looks of the vehicle. Thanks for the replies.

Very simple. First clean the bumper- I washed mine then wiped it down with rubbing alcohol. Then peel off the double stick tape backing. Make sure it's centered so it won't interfere with the lift gate and press in place.

same here..Those along with the Splash guards were my first shipment from saturnaccessories.com!

I also find the black pad contrasts nicely with the gray bumpers..especially with a black VUE
