1999 SL2
Heart This is the end

Well, the time has finally come. I signed over my 1999 SL2 to a new owner this morning. I had her for almost 5 1/2 years and close to 90,000mi (now showing 243xxx on the clock).

Thanks for everyone's help on here, this site is a huge reason I didn't scrap her years ago! Made diagnosing and fixing problems if not easy, then manageable. Using this site I was able to change out my starter, brakes, radio head unit, shifter linkage cable, track down coolant leaks, find out why I was burning 1qt oil every 1500 mi and a bunch of other things that would have left me stumped.

It was a good run, but time to move on...

I left seven years ago and came back. You never know if you'll be drawn back by a Saturn! Good luck to you.

I also took a 4 year hiatus from Saturn. You really never know what to expect, once you've owned a Saturn, it kind of sticks with ya.

GOOD LUCK!! im having difficulty separating from either of my saturns!!

i have had one since 2001!! i love these little cars!! hardly anything goes wrong, easy to maintain, easy as well as cheap to fix(especially with access to this site) great on gas and cheap insurance. it does what it is intended to point a & b. dont have to really worry about it.

people just dont get how good these cars can be!!

I feel your pain. Just sold my 2002 SL1 in April and still miss it. Only put 112K on it, but the 1993 we had did well over 135K and is still on the road.

Since July 1992 I've only been without a S Series in the driveway for 2 years and 7 months.

After 5 years ownership we sold our first Saturn, a blue/black SL2 MT to fund the purchase of a second home and went down to a single vehicle family.

When we needed a second vehicle in March 2000 we picked up a 93 SW2 AT which was retired in 2010. In 2008 we purchase our current 2001 SL1 MT. It'll be a sad day when this car is retired and we move on.

Oh, we currently have a 96 SL2 MT and 99 SL2 AT too. Both were recent acquisitions and are waiting to be put on the road. They are project cars when I have time to get to them. I have SLCraig to thank for that; he fueled the fire!
