Default Hood scoop!!!

You know those cheap fake hood scoops '96 honda civic owners buy in chrome and put on their hoods off center to match their plastic spinner hubcaps?!?!? Well what happens when you get it professionally painted to match black onyx and stick it on a Vue RL?!?!? tacky, beast, overkill, or awesome... You be the judge!! pics to come...

I'd be interested to see how it looks on a RL. They are not my style but it's your VUE.

Get a Photobucket account then put the [ img ] then [ /img ] tags on it. (without the spaces)

It is, I promise. Its a simple single vent hood scoop with a rounded back centered on the hood "hump" near the window like any normal scoop would. Its kinda cool actually the grille insert matches the mesh grille on the car, just a smaller diamond shape.

With all due respect - it's a no go for me.

If it were actually functional, that would be a different story. I just can't get into the "appliqués" applied to vehicles. Be it body kits, spoilers, faux side vents or non-functional hood scoops. Rest of the Vue looks great though.

Hell no!!!! A funcional ram-air hood would be awesome. A small scoop like a wrx has (not STI). Stick on stuff is a no go for me. But If you like it then have fun I guess.

making it functional for ram air would be extremely difficult due to intake manifold height in relation to underside of hood. iv thought about making it functional in cooling down engine bay temps, which it should, especially considering the 3.5l's like to generate alot of heat, but im not keen on cutting a hole in my hood just yet.

Im generally not either, especially coming from a racing background, where if its not necessary to go fast or be safe, its not on the car... this however is not a racecar. Lets just say if I wasnt affraid of cutting a hole in my hood, it would be functional. The most common response I get from people: "what?!? thats a Saturn with a hood scoop.... heh, sweet/cool!"

Non functional scoop on any car is a no-no IMHO... also this one really doesn't match the VUE's lines & the scale is off too.

I do like the tailpipe though...

Sorry, personally, it's not my thing. I'm all about "sleepers". The lines of the scoop are too round for the straight lines of the VUE. But, if you like it, I say go for it.Thank God you didn't put it on your roof like I see some of tese youngsters doing with their Civics. I wanted to raise the VUE about 4-6 inches and put on some knobby off-road tires and a push bar with winch until the Mrs. brought me back to reality.

Well see the beautiful thing is I have no mrs to bring me back to reality.... at least not yet. Its real interesting seeing these (all unfortunately) negative opinions of this, considering I haven't gotten a no opinion at all from any non vue owner... even at shows with barret jackson quality cars. Again thanks for being polite, I appreciate it.

Thank you. Custom exhaust from the headers. Still 2 1/2" but all new piping and straight piped mid muffler and for a while straight piped rear (full straighpipe) but drone became overbearing. Now there's a thrush turbo muffler that works well and makes a nice deep low noice. (somewhere inbetween infiniti g35 and 350z)

It's not that I' not polite, just that it isn't something that I would do. But it's your vehicle and you can do whatever you like to it.

I'm not feeling it. If it were wider, maybe the side of the bulge in the center of the VUE's hood, it would flow better but it is you car. Have fun with it.
