a CV joint is more like a "click"

a "clunk" is more like a diff pin problem.

check you tranny fluid. if its low, add some and check under the car for leaks.

Can you feel the clunk in the steering wheel? Or are you feeling it through your seat?

Is it just one "clunk" at a certain point in the turning process, or does it "clunk-clunk-clunk" as you go? If it's a series of clunks, does it vary with the car speed? Does it happen when you turn the wheel while the car is not moving? Does it happen in both directions, or just one?

the clunks are in a series. I feel it in the steering. It only clunks while the car is moving. Its not leaking under the car. It might be the trans fluid its a 5 speed so I don't where to check.. Its about half way into the turn when it starts to clunk. Also it happens mainly when I turn right but is starting when I turn left now. Hope that helps
thanks for the fast replys.

It's unlikely it's the tranny fluid, but for reference, the dipstick is on the top of the tranny, directly below the brake master cylinder. It's a red handle that you flip up, then lift. Harder to find if you have ABS. (BTW, owner's manuals are commonly available on eBay; well worth the cost, for this kind of info).

Could be something in the steering; tie rod, rack itself, etc. Might _possibly_ be an _inner_ CV joint, but you'd probably feel that more in your seat.

Try jacking up each wheel by itself, and try to "jiggle" it, left-to-right (9-3 o'clock) and top-to-bottom (12-6 o'clock). If either one does move, poke around back there as you're moving it (an assistant would be helpful), and try to see what moves and what doesn't move. Report back what you turn up. WARNING: If you're gonna really reach/poke under there, DON'T do it with the car just on the jack! Borrow a jack stand.

Check the strut mount. That's my suggestion for #1 suspect. You did fully tighten the strut bolts after putting that strut bar on, right?

i was sayen tranny fluid because if he put a hloe is his trayy with the diff pin, there'd be not fluid in the tranny. and if he added fluid it would all leak out. he could of lost all the tranny fluid elsewhere. thats why he wouldnt see anything leaking

go under the car and check your CV boots for tares... then make sure your struts are on good and tight. if both are ok look towards your rack or a tierod end
