Dizzy FUEL PUMP or FUEL SENDING UNIT?..

So...I have no fuel pressure. (this has been on going) my question is....

Can this be only the fuel pump, or could it possibly just be the sending unit?

Does my 94 sc-1, 1.9L SOHC have a sending unit? Can these items be replaced seperately? The cost of said fuel pump is forcing me to look into other options.

The sending unit has nothing to do with fuel pressure. It simply tells the gauge how much gas is in the tank. If the sending unit was bad, your gauge would read empty all the time, or possibly full all the time. You need a fuel pump.

Ouch! Apparently, somewhere on line you can get just the pump for just over a hundred dollar bill. Do a search for my other thread about fuel pumps as someone replied to it with some info.

Actually, creative shopping will get just the pump for a bit under the 100.00 price. You want to replace the in tank filters also. A new assembly is quite a chunk of change. RockAuto has the parts and of the non eBay sellers they also are the low price.

Really? You mean that I can just replace the pump motor? So how do i replace just the pump with out destroying the whole assembly? I don't see how to pull it apart to access the pump motor with out "breaking in."

I would definitely by new verses used, if I could. Thanks for all your help.

I have an assembly for a 98 here that I am planning on rebuilding but have not investigated just how you get the pump out of it. Some one on here has done it and they will be along eventually to explain how its done. It looks doable though.

You sure do not want to buy the entire unit new. Or install one out of a dead car with an old pump in it.
