Remote keyfob easy fix / maintenance.

I have been having issues with the remote key fob on my 2004 Saturn vue. The buttons would not always work and I had to press many times or press real hard until lately it rarely worked. Also the buttons would sometimes stick in the pressed down position. So I took it apart. The battery checked at 3 volts and there was no damage to the battery contacts. I noticed that black rubber had smudged up the circuit board where the buttons make contact. I cleaned it off very gently with a Q tip and a tiny amount of alcohol until all of the black rubber was removed. I also cleaned off the bottom of the buttons with same. Then I cleaned the top and side edges of the buttons with alcohol and cloth to fix the sticky button issue. After a good cleaning of the case at the snap joint, I reassembled. It now works like new. Easy.

I will have to clean it with some alcohol. I had the sticking issue and took it apart one day when I had time to burn, I used a screwdriver to scrape all the sludge off the buttons but it still sticks.
