Default Rear lug stud removal

94SC1 with rear disc brakes - snapped off rear lug stud last night.

Do I just knock it through the other side like most other old cars? Thanks.

Yes.
It'll be a bit tricky getting the new one in, there's only 1 area behind the hub that's long enough for the full stud to fit through.

OK. I don't think I have ever replaced a lug stud on a rear wheel (e-brake) with disc brakes before.

And I guess I'll find out about installation when I get there.

Car has been sitting awhile (see my classified), but I was surprised that when I went to pull the LR wheel off to check a brake leak, the lug nuts gave me trouble all the way off, all four of them. I had better pull all the wheels off, to see if I am going to be needing any more new lug studs.

Personally, I'm a little hesitant of beating on the end of that stud. After all, the hub it's installed in, is riding on the rear bearing. So beating on it, basically, is beating on the bearing. And you can't expect it to last too long after that.

You'd be better served to find some way to press it out. Or put some support behind the hub next to the stud you're removing.

And of course, you pull it back into place using a standard lug nut BACKWARDS.

You can't use the factory Saturn lug nuts, because you can't get a socket on the nut if you put it on the stud backwards. And you shouldn't used the beveled end of the nut to drive against the hub face. So you'll have to purchase a standard lug nut when you buy the replacement stud.
