1998 SL2
Default Fuel Rail Hold down bolt size

Hello all, I tried to clean the throttle body of my 98 SL2 and screwed up. I ended up removing the intake manifold and stripped one of the threads that are used to hold down the fuel rail. I have repaired threads before but I can't find out the thread size. Anyone know what size?

I have more questions about my car and a good story but I will wait until I have fixed the threads.

Thanks

Yes mate! I know it's been ages since you posted this, but I couldn't find info on it anywhere. I sadly took one bullet in the teeth for you all and over torqued mine. They snap just over 15 ft lbs. I got a speed out bit and another bolt, so it's not too bad for me. But the bolts that are oddly shaped WILL BREAK. I recommend 10 ft lbs.
Hope this saves someone's Saturn! Saturn fans for life. lol

Also, if yours is broke I found a replacement in June of 2021 on this site. They might have your part. Worth looking:

Anyone know the part number for the 4 bolts that hold on the plastic "BMW" engine covers. I'm not finding them on realoem.

All cars across the line suffer from the same issues including water pump failure, chain rattle/failure, oil consumption, carbon build up, and turbo failure. It is a lottery but I can tell you there are 100 cars running perfectly fine for everyone that has an issue. Maintenance is the key to all this just like your body, you need to take care of your car.
