2008 Astra XR
Default Saw another Astra today...

Red XE, with temp tags, no less. Someone must have recently purchased it.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've seen one, but it must be at least five years ago.

I saw two here in Alabama a few weeks ago. The first one was a 4dr XR model. I waved at them, and they waved back lol.

The next one was a blue XR coupe that looked in great shape.

Oh, and I saw another one at the beach last week, in rough shape.

I have only seen 2 other Astra's here in beautiful Mission/Abbotsford British Columbia and neither were the 4 dr in Silver like mine they were red and black. I think I prefer the Silver but would have loved to get the Astra in the same teal that the SL 1 is....I never knew that Saturn made a hatchback until I saw mine in the local paper for sale at a car lot. Have always had the Sl1 sedan (1995; still have her) or the 2 Twin cam Sc's. I am sad to finally part with the sedan after having it 23+ years but it's been parked since 2011 and I put on over 300k on it and now it's time to pass her along. Sad though as I took my now 23 yo daughter home from Hospital in it. Would post pics but am so new to this can't figure out how.

Jesus man, I was really wondering if they were good reliable cars. You answered my question about that, 23+ years is almost unheard of and that mileage is also almost never heard of in a lot of other cars. Opel makes pretty good cars it seems.

Occasionally I see an XE5 in town lately. It resembles my XE becase it is also blue but judging by the wheels, it has the sport suspension. Also last week there was a silver Astra on my street behind me and I had never saw that one before.

It's funny how rarely we see others on the road. It's a pleasant surprise and I usually wave. I used to see two fairly frequently around my home (white with a weird roof rack and a blue one), and now it's down to one. The blue one (which was pretty rough) finally disappeared from its routine parking spot and appears to have been replaced by another oddball - a Suzuki SX4.
