Looked like a nice one, too. Why couldn't it have been a first-gen SW1 automatic with rusty door sills and faded clearcoat? Nooo...it HAD to be a second-gen SW2 in excellent condition.

With a factory roof rack, no less. Another one bites the dust. (Or perhaps in this case, the dust bites another one.....)

What year was it?
Identical to my '98, but different wheel covers.
What years had the yellow rear turn signal lens on the top?

Absolutely sickening to watch, let alone experience the loss.

Same wheel covers as my '96; I think they were '96-'97.

Scary thought - just east, and just west, of that landslide, that railroad runs UNDER several parking lots, a basektball court, a playground, etc; if that embankment was so unstable, imagine what would happen if one of those caved in. http://mapq.st/1fX0jkZ

I saw this too. I actually said, "Oh no!" out loud when I saw the Satty.

Even worse, in the shot of the aftermath, I'm almost positive I see the SW on its roof.

On NBC nightly news, they talked to the owner of the Saturn while he watched his wagon get crushed by bulldozers because they were in such a hurry to get the cars off the train tracks. He said his insurance refused to cover the damage because they considered it an "act of God", what a bunch of...... It was truly disgusting to watch them destroy a wagon that could have been salvageable.

Especially since the guy who buldozed his car wasn't exactly an act of God. The car may have been repairable before that happened.
