I had a crappily done throttle body with the vacuum holes scraped out. bad. The JG one I got from SPS was done correctly without ruining those holes. They enlarged the throttle body in front of the throttle plate and enlarged the throttle plate area but left the rest of it alone. It's tapered 56 mm to 52 mm at the throttle plate.

Doesn't matter what size those holes are, the vacuum line itself is the restriction.

On all the 55mm TBs I've done and run the holes have been nixed and they've all worked great (passed CARB and everything).

my crappily done one leaked at the vacuum lines and no amount of silicon goo or jb weld helped. the pcm doesn't like vacuum leaks at the thottle body at all. the first clue was when it began to idle at 4000 (four thousand) rpm... d'oh.
