Default 1999 SC2 radio loses clock time

I've got a 99 SC2 with the cassette and equilazer and 12 disk changer. The radio clock seems to lose a lot of time, not just a few minutes but a lot. I put a new battery in the car maybe a week ago and reset the time then. Today I checked and the clock was an hour behind. What could be causing this?
