I drag up to 2,000 pounds around with mine regularly (its rated for 1,500). Don't be afraid to let it rev some and don't lug the engine and you will be fine.

Your vue is rated for up to 2500lbs and a couple mowers won't be anywhere close to that weight. You should be be fine =)

Try that palce on Route 9 near you. I'm not exactly sure but, I think Lakewood or Howell. I pass it going from Toms River to Freehold. It's in the section that has one lane in each direction.

I wouldn't call a vue a workhorse... It's a car based suv. A truck based suv like a jeep liberty would be more of a "workhorse." But what you're talking about doesn't sound like much of a load to me.

A vue should handle the trailer you're talking about pulling. Getting a class III hitch would be good. Youre biggest problem will probably be the trailer length, since vues are not very long. The problem with pulling long trailers shorter than the vehicle is they have more of a tendancy to whip. Keep the weight towards the front of the trailer (squatting the vue a little is a good thing), and it will be more stable.

I wouldn't recomend it, but I pulled about 6,000# (skidsteer loader & trailer) about a mile with my 03 v6. It was the easiest way to get it home from my dad's equipment rental yard... I took about a block to get up to 25 mph , and It took a long time to stop
