Question Saturn 2000 SL2 rear frame repair

I got a 2000 Saturn SL2 with some damage to the rear passenger side of the car.
I wanted to get a wheel alignment done because the back tires were showing
uneven wear. I come to find out that the problem is being caused due to the
damage to the frame. In order to fix it I'll need a body shop to pull the metal of
the unibody in the back. I'll also have to get a new back axle. The question I have is this. When I go to a salvage yard to get an axle, does it have to be from a 2000 Saturn SL2 ? Are there other years that have identical axles? Are there other Saturn models that are compatible? If so what other years and models can I use?

Only S-Series models and if you want to keep the rear sway bar then its easier if you get another DOHC ('91-'92 SC, '91-'02 SL2/SW2, '93-'02 SC2). Which year? Any ('91-'02). Just get the most rust free one you can find shipped the cheapest.

The links from the bottom of the knuckle to the frame could be bent too. On the knuckle side they're held on with a bolt that's about 30 miles long and virtually guaranteed to be seized into place even in rust free areas. I got 2 of the last one's a local dealer had ~8 years ago for 50% off list and it was still $10 each. The bolts on the frame side could also be rust seized but those are easy to replace in comparison to the knuckle side bolt.

Thank you for the response. I did some looking around and came up with a couple of other questions. You say that any year SL2 between 91-02 will work? I heard that the SL1 and the SL2 have identical frames the only difference is the SL2 has more luxury features. So an SL1 between 91-02 would work as well correct? The only difference I noticed in my research is that an SL1 have 14 inch tires where as a SL2 has 15 inch tires. If I get a axel with the lateral arms and knuckles of an SL1, Will the hub assembly from my SL2 properly bolt up to the knuckles? I was wondering about this since the SL1 has 14 inch tires and the SL2 has 15 inch.

The SL2 rear subframe has a configuration for the rear sway bar whereas the SL1 does not. The rear sway bar is for the performance and provides better handling. If you don't mind deleting the rear sway bars then the SL1 rear subframe will work fine.

You can also take the subframe from a wagon or a coupe. You are not limited to just the sedan.
