Default similarities of vue to L series

hi sages- spotted what has to be a rare model in a parking lot : an 01 or 02 vue with a 4 cyl 5 speed stick and no awd. same color and upholstery as my 01 L 100. is this vue the same engine and trans as my L 100 2.2 and 5 speed clutch popper? wonder how many parts are interchangeable with the L 100 and whether they are more available. L 100 as you know is very difficult to get parts for. springs , actuators, cluster bulbs etc, for example. 4 cyls and sticks in vues must have been rare as hell. think mode actuator for ex is different between the two vehicles. do like the L but the vue would have been more useful. tried to get L wagon new car salesman to order me a stick but he told me sticks were not available in the L wagon. that was not true. if rust never sleeps does that also apply to shysterism. guess davy was right when he said frontiersmen must always sleep with one eye open. thanks tons bob f

With regard to identical parts used between the two vehicles there is an easy way to identify which ones there were. Go to your favorite OEM parts website and open two tabs for it on your computer. Next, look up each vehicle in the separate tabs>Browse Catalog>next page is Select Part Category and choose same category for each to make the comparison. For example: >HVAC (to compare actuators)>Evaporator & Heater Components>scroll down the page until you see something that says Actuator (there will be two of them) and compare the part numbers between the two vehicles. If they're identical then they will share the same part number.

Use RockAuto and open two different tabs and as mentioned compare parts as mentioned that will tell you how much is shared and not shared. Otherwise contact a local GM service parts shop and they could tell you as well how different they are since they are the servicing for Saturn parts. They will have better knowledge of what is and isn't shared.
