Question Another 2000 Saturn SL2 cruise control installation

I understand I'll need the steering wheel, module, and to have the PCM re-flashed with the Cruise option enabled. It is my understanding that the cruise module goes right under the dash on the steering wheel neck. Can I get away with having them pull the PCM? It is a base SL2 with no power locks or power windows, would I need a PCM out of a car with the same configuration but with cruise? Where is the PCM located on the car? Thanks for any advice you can give!

Swapping the gen-3 pcm is not worth the hassle/expense. It will be ultimately cheaper to find someone/chevy dealer than can reflash the PCM or just enable cruise.

^ ^ ^ I've never swapped a PCM, especially on a 3rd gen.

I suspect at least part of the hassle is after a swap, there is some procedure involved to introduce the PCM to the 3rd gen's BCM. And hope that Passlock or whatever the security thing was called does not rear its ugly head.

3rd gen PCMs are located behind the battery, flat silver rectangle.

Not sure I would trust a junkyard guy to pull the right PCM with the right trans, etc. Some of them don't seem to pay attention to details, and the details can matter.

The richpin video shows the cruise module installation but as you already know, steering wheel is different

My Gen 3 is hard wired for Cruise only, so it must be able to be Flashed for it with the original PCM. There's a mobile company that comes out and to a shop and does it, but it's $250 and with No Guarantee to work. I think once I get the module installed, I'll call around. Out of My price rage. BTW, anyone know why the Module Cable end has an adjustable "Zip Tie" type end on it ? Sorry for the late response to an old thread.

I replied to your other post regarding the programming. The zip tie provides the final adjustment of the linkage to the gas pedal. It takes up the slack so there is no delay in engagement.
