Heh, I moved my SC2 into the garage. For a couple of nights, anyway.

I usually run an extension cord out to the driveway to put the SC2 onto a trickle charger. It;s parked behind my SL2 and Elantra, so I use a 50' extension cord.

But the minivan was in the shop for a wheel bearing. So I drove the SC2 into the garage. Required two complete nights on the charger before the battery showed full charge. Also drove it up and down the driveway a few times, braking hard forward and reverse to clear out the rust on the brakes.

edit: Hey, I just noticed your SC2 behind the plane - seems like you had space? Or did you put something that was outside the hangar into the hanger?

Had the strangest thing happen today. Changed the oil in the SL2 with Rotella Gas truck 5w30 that was on sale at Autozone last year along with a Motorcraft FL400s. Now granted my driveway is a hill so I may not have had the flattest surface but I have never had this problem before.

Upon starting there was a bunch of smoke and it stalled, and the PCV valve upon pulling was almost full of oil. Not sure if something got clogged but upon letting it burn off and getting going it seemed to be all good. Just really strange to me. Hopefully nothing damaged in the long run.

We bought a Hobie Cat. Currently rebuilding the trailer, which means the boat is off the trailer. So the boat is in the trailer spot, the trailer is in the SC2 spot. SC2 gets evicted.

Here is the former Saturn real estate in use:

We ripped the trailer apart and got this much cleaned up and painted.

Ah, OK, sounds like it's more of a temporary thing.

When we built our house, we cheaped out a bit and did a smaller 2-car garage. Our Grand Caravan barely fits, and there is little room to work around it (I have to back it out of the garage so the rear axle is at the doorway to change the oil). Of course, when we built it, I thought I would never own a minivan Next house will be more stalls, ideally 4-5 cars, with a lift and work space.

Was poking around in the pick n pull yard on the weekend and came across the cleanest S Series I've ever seen in a yard. The factory mats were perfect so I threw them up on the package shelf. It looks like the owner detailed it before sending it away. Had this been an SL2 I would have pulled the interior for my own car.

The front rotors looked to be new; I may go back and fetch them.

I came across SLCraig's 96 SL2 which left my possession a couple years ago. If anybody is in need of a working sunroof this one is good. I took the motor for my SL2 a couple years ago however the sunroof slides tested good. I manually cranked it open while there to test again. They don't seem to keep their cars for long in this year so act quickly if you want it. Price list says it is $15.79 without the motor. Glass is $20.49.

Topped off the oil, coolant, and ran her through an automatic car wash for the first time. Car looks great, but wow was it a racket going through.

We replaced the trailer light connector on the '99. Then we took the Saturn on a test drive pulling the Hobie 16.

We had to replace the headlamp assembly. What a bear!!! The hood is dented but not so badly that it won't open and close, but I will try to get a hood at the pick and pull. At least white is a common color.

On June 25th in 2013, I picked up my SL1 with 177,980 km (110592 miles) on it. Today, I've put 100,000 km on it just a couple of weeks shy of my 8th anniversary of ownership. Never thought I would've kept it this running long, but here we are.

Thank you SaturnFans for all your help.

Used some black trim restore on the front license plate bracket and it looks so much better now. Wish I had taken some before and after photos. Will probably do the 2 rocker panels tomorrow

I strained my old orange Dex-Cool to use as emergency top off coolant for the next time my water pump starts failing in about 7 years or so. Used a funnel and a paper paint strainer with a conically folded and stapled bounty towel inside. The gallon and almost a half of the drained coolant looked pretty good and the paper towel filtered a lot of dark gray stuff.

Last week, I bought a set of Motomaster SE3 195/65R15 tires from Canadian Tire. They were able to accommodate me and I figured, why not?

I got to watch the technician look at my brake lines, then my rear drums, then call over another dude who also looked at the rear drums. I'm thinking, "I don't remember asking these guys to look at my brakes..."

The guy behind the counter sends me to talk to the guy changing my tires and points to a tiny puddle on the ground that seemed to be coming from one of the brake lines. I show them the brake lines that my father-in-law and I replaced two years ago and point out the full master brake master cylinder. That fluid was probably from when I topped up the master cylinder but I didn't notice any soft or spongy brakes.

It did make me chuckle when they helpfully offered a quote to replace my brake lines, rotors, pads, shoes and rear brake hardware totaling $1100! Thanks for confirming how much we saved doing all that work two years ago, but I passed on their generous offer.

It did prompt me to order some pads, rotors, shoes and drum brake hardware (some of which arrived today to hopefully get it all installed this weekend with the father-in-law, rather than the Canadian Tire guys.

Had some Reflextix lying around not doing anything, so I cut up a piece and put it under the dash to try and help the A/C from the beating sun. The factory foam is still underneath since it filled in the crevasses better, but I’m not sure if it’s actually helping, or if it is just creating dust for the blower motor to suck up. Gonna be hot the next few days so I’ll definitely see if it works at all.

In my 2.5+ years of owning my Saturn, I have never encountered the strangeness that has been the last week with this car.

I've posted many threads of my issues with the wiper motor and decided to clean the contacts and inspect. Threw it and the fuse back in and didn't fix the problem so I decided to leave it out and avoid the rainy days.

This past week I drove the car the farthest I ever had before to Newark airport (about 90+ miles one way and back, thankfully no rain) and parked it for a week while I attended a wedding. Came back and started the car and all of a sudden it bucked and died on me after about 5 minutes of driving. I panicked a bit, pulled over, checked connections, restarted it and had no issues thereafter.

As a rain storm came through our area today I decided to plug the wiper motor fuse back in, and what do you know the wipers work again. Park, intermittent, etc all works fine.....the first GM electrical gremlin that worked to a positive outcome!

I took it on a 500 miles trip with a chainsaw in the trunk. On the way back, I noticed that straight-line highway tracking had degraded and there was a new, slight, straight-line vibration. My best guess is that the driver’s outer CV joint failed. It was stiff before I installed it last September and I suspect there was insufficient grease. Any acceleration-while-cornering produced more vibration than it had before this trip.
I ordered a Duralast Gold and a Dorman boot kit. I will look to see if this axle has enough grease, IF it is not too stiff right out of the box.

Competition Clutch 10Lb. Flywheel. 14 stalls to date (and loving it).
Oil use is 1 ounce per 100 miles with ~230,000 miles on the engine
