2002 SC2
Default 02 SC2 Headlight

Hi,

I want to replace by myself the damaged headlight in a hit & run to save some money and I located a 02 SL1. Are the headlights in sedan and coupe exchangable for 02?

Also, what is the doablity for DIY the headlight? Is there any instruction? Richpin doesn't
The Chilton's manual is not good enough either...

No. 2001-02 coupe headlamps are not the same as the sedan. you need a 2001-02 coupe headlamp for your 02 SC2.

Two bolts.

Don't disassemble the aiming mechanism. And be careful with the bulbs. The easiest way to do it and not damage them is unbolt the broken headlight, unplug the bulbs and leave them in the broken one. Then remove the bulbs, one by one and put them in the new one. Plug them back in and bolt it on. Since you're getting a "new" one (I'm assuming it's from a junk yard) it would be a good time to make sure the vent tubes are clear so you don't get condensation.

Thank you for the details!
I am getting a brand new aftermarket piece so I am not expecting the vent tube to be clogged

If you happen to be in my situation, avoid this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=110472902857

I put this on and started to aim, then the adjuster broke into pieces

It took almost an hour to take the old adjuster off the broken lamp to fix the new lamp

Wow, that sucks. Why did it take so long to take the old adjuster off? The only time I replaced a broken headlight the new one didn't come with the adjusters and I had to take them off the old lights. But that was on a U-body van. I didn't think the S-series would be much different.

The screws are not very accessible. I need to rotate them quarter circle by quarter circle...on both...totally 6 screws in this way...
