* 1994 HCE (3500 made)
* 1999 HCE (4000 made)
* 2001 Yellow SC2 (the limited "99" production run)

These are the few that are coming to mind. There are also the 1998 Red-Hot, White-Hot Sport Coupes (with limited runs of a few hundred a piece). There is also the 2002 Sedan that is the 10th Anniversary edition that has the
leather seats and the 10th Anniversary embroidered into the seat headrests.
Are the red hot and the white hot you speak of the black roofed models? Those might be on your short list of desirable S-series Saturns.

Oh and don't forget a 2002 Saturn S-Series SL2...silver, with steelies and no hubcaps.

Actually, Nashes, Packards and Studes do fetch a fair penny, in the right condition. But it'll be decades before any Saturn reaces that status.

Nope; 15" steelies were standard. But yeah, they should have covers. Yeah, wheel covers would def. make the car worth 16 Large.

My question to him, sent yesterday:

The DEALER Blue-book value on this car, with this mileage, PRESUMING it has
EVERY option available at the time of manufacture, in EXCELLENT conditon,
is aprx. $6600. Private party value is aprx. $5000. That's all assuming
that the photos taken at night aren't hiding anything. Just what is so
special about this car that makes it worth TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS more than
that?

A 'museum' Saturn with just a few hundred miles on the clock (I
think it was the millionth one made, or something) went for well under
$10000.
His response..... <crickets chirping.....>

Somebody needs to ask him why the front bumper cover is falling off, and if that's why the car's not listed at $20K...

Oh, start is down to $14k, but golly, still no bids.

Yes, wheel covers. I said hubcaps earlier.

I also asked a questions, and it was most of the first post in this thread, re-worded as a question to him. I asked right after posting it here...I also have no response yet.

Point is, if we can visibly see that an important component is missing on three wheels, what does that say for the condition of the rest of the car?

I'd say, this car is worth no more than $2000, tops.

Now the first bid price has dropped to $13,000 -- and he's removed the pictures from the auction.

It also appears that he has deleted the most recent questions as well. I'm only seeing the first three.

The price has gone up and down $3000 in the past few days.

And really smart, trying to sell a severly overpriced car with no pictures.

Wow, lol even a Pristine last year Mazda rx7 with turbo and really cherry is worth anywhere from 10-15k and that's if it was adult driven and not abused and taken care of! Anyways, this guy is nutts, he must not know about this website, luckily Saturn's will exist for a lot longer due to all the knowledgeable and helpful people here and they will not be rare soon due to the high sales figures they put out in the 90s! I bet 10 years from now we can still go to our local auto parts store and get any of the most common wear and tare items like a starter or a water pump or gaskets for a reasonable price.
So true. I just picked up a rebuilt alternator [not Chinese] that came from OK and a fuel filter for my 63 Valiant from Amazon. The fuel filter was made in Israel. So was the air filter for my 95 SL1.

Someone will make a decent living making parts for Saturns many years from now. Whole cottage industries have developed around orphaned makes and popular old cars. A good fan base will keep these cars running for a long long time.Someone will turn their hobby into cash, not to worry and to old Saturn owner's benefit. A long time to go before there's a lack of parts, though.

Even the manufacturers stickers, headlamp trim rings and correct upholstery are available for my Valiant and many other makes out there. Saturn won't be any different. But not just because they stopped production in October of 2009. This guy is a bit optimistic, don't you think? I didn't pay that much for an 05 ION 1 new.

I sent him a quite nasty email on ebay about that price....so ridiculous! KBB is $3,915 in excellent condition! Someone needs to hit him over the head with a stack of 20 dollar bills. Last check NO BIDS on it and the price is set at $13,000. I told him to drop the price by $10,500 if he wanted any hits on it. I think he's smoking that crack a little too much. Even if he got upside down on his loan contract, it wouldn't be that much to pay it off.
