Have to go on an unexpected little road trip this morning(thankfully a friend is loaning us their car) so I haven't had time to do a compression test yet.
When I get time I plan on switching the coilpacks to see if the misfire issue switches cyl.......and if I get nowhere with that doing a compression test.....the car has over 260,000 miles on it, and I've had it for almost 100,000 of those and have never changed the fuel filter....could this be a possible contributing factor as well?

The fuel, filter is definitely due. Probably not the cause of the problem though.

well swapping the coil packs didn't change the code, it's still coming up as P0302......so does that eliminate the ICM or no? I am not sure how you would test that? I've done a little reading and seen people mention that it could be caused by a faulty injector.....how would you test that? I also just got a look of what I thought might be a problem with the wiring to the ECTS where it was spliced when I changed the old resin one to the brass one....could this also be a possible culprit?

Solder the ECTS connections. Nothing else works. Pull the fuel rail and swap the #2 injector with either #1 or #4 and see if the problem moves. You test the ICM by substitution, get a new one at the J/Y as the aftermarket is both expensive and not reliable.

Have you ran a compression test? Misfires can be a burned valve.
