Default Intake Manifold Leak

On my 2002 SL 5-speed, I have an intake manifold leak at #1 cylinder. Symptoms are SES light, codes 0301 and 0507, rough/high idle, cold engine almost stalls when spraying brake cleaner at the #1 cylinder.

Fortunately, it's covered under my 5-year powertrain warranty, at least I hope it is.

A few questions; it's been running rough for quite a while, but only within the last month did I start getting the SES light, which prompted me to troubleshoot. Is this condition harmful for the engine over several months?

I read here (I love this forum) where the intake manifold gasket is a problem on these cars perhaps due to assembly line problems. Can I expect the replacement gasket to last longer than the 43000 kms I have on my car now?

Finally, I have already had to repair my upper torque axis mount, and now this. What else is likely to go wrong? My 5 year powertrain warranty runs out next July, and I would like to monitor any other likely failures before my time is up.

Thanks for your help!
