I would also love to power up my doors and windows. I've read around here thou that wiring is a pain in the neck and the only way to really do it easily is to get new doors from the junkyard with the wires and everything installed already.

I'm waaaaaaaaay too lazy for that. I'll settle for the "crank".

::Laughs:: Funny, i've been REALLY planning on doing this all too! Though I'm not going to go get new doors entirely, i'll settle for going to a junkyard and taking out all the internal parts of the doors of a crashed saturn or something, then doing everything myself and with knowledgeble friends. I"ll also look at the junk saturn's wiring, and draw scematics and such of how the wiring goes, and where it goes into, and etc.

After the project is done, it will be put up for ALL to see, with instructions.
Of course, this project will not be started for like, a year. I have to pay off the car first.

To install the OEM wiring and parts for PDL and PW, you'll need to remove ALL the door skins, the center console, the entire dashboard assembly, all the interior trim plastic and carpet. You'll need all the switches, door window regulators, and COMPLETE wiring harnesses. On gen 1 and 2 cars, you ALSO MUST install a power mirror on the passenger's side door and associated wiring, as that switch is included in the switch pod for the PW and part of the power feed circuit. Given a WEEK or so and a complete donor car, parked next to the one you are working on, it "could" be done. (If you're a real glutton for punishment)

Now I understand why people swap doors instead of trying to install the power windows.....

Tough job, yes, but I'm planning on doing one thing at a time. Such as one day, put the window regulators and all the door stuff IN, but not connected. Or just put in the front two doors on the first try, or one door at a time. That way, I can still drive to work in the process, and then run the wire to the correct places on a weekend off or something, but then put everything back on, wait a week and drive the car to work. Next weekend off, i'll finish the wiring job, put everthing back on, etc.
Less punishment, more waiting and trying things, but still have the ability to drive the car most of the time.
And if i screw things up, I DO still have the Taurus that I can borrow until the Saturn is fixed.

i went to the dealer asking them how much it would cost for them to install power windows, power locks, and that security system my car didnt come with....they said parts plus install would run about 1900 bucks, if i'm lucky...so thats on the bottom of my list of mods i want now hehe
