2003 Saturn Vue 4 Cyl 2.2L Manual Transmission Replacment
Good Evening Fellas. I've been doing some reading on the forums and I am getting ready to pull out my transmission for a rebuild. Quick recap...I have replaced 2 master cylinders do to them snapping at the pedal. I can drive my VUE for about 10 miles before the clutch starts to give me a binding sensation. I now have the VUE in my garage on jacks with the front wheels off and left splash guard off. I went and bought an engine support bar from Harbor Freight...my question is do I have to dress down the engine bay (remove air filter/ battery/ fuse box) in order to remove the transmission? Thanks for your help in advance.

I would think so.
What you mention should help access. Does your service manual detail dropping it out the bottom or pulling from the top? I've seen , somewhere on this forum, a poster mentioned pulling the engine out from the top( too).

Service manual talks about dropping it. It also says that the tranny can be removed without dropping engine as long as engine is supported. Everyone has been talking about dropping engines in their vehicles, but i want to avoid that. Guess I was just looking to see if anyone has done the change with the engine still in place.
