2005 V6 AWD Vibration

2005 V6 AWD 85K miles. I've searched the web and can't find my specific problem. I feel a vibration (as if the bass was turned up too high) through the floor and the steering wheel only between 40 and 50 mph. This started a few weeks ago. It happens between those speeds no matter what - accelerating, decelerating, braking, cruising, any RPM, etc. At 45 mph I hear road noise as if I'm on really rough pavement. I just had the tires balanced and rotated. The tire shop said it didn't need an alignment, and there is no pull or shimmy.

I REALLY don't want to take my baby to the dealers unless I have a pretty good idea of what's wrong. (It took 3 expensive trips to just to get the clunking fixed)

Help!

Have you checked the rear driveshaft steady bearing?
