1998 SL
Question TPS Interchange?

I've looked through the swap guide, and noted which years of the throttle body interchange, and i'm assuming that's mostly because of the TPS, but it's not clear.

I have a 98 SL, TPS has pn 21023673 on it, and has a plastic tang between terminals B and C.

I pulled a handful from junkyards, which now I understand would be from the 3rd generation with pn 21024706 and a plastic tang between terminals A and B.

Is there a fundamental difference in the resistance/opening rate in these parts??? or can i just cut the tang off the newer TPS so that the connector from my 98 fits?

Any help appreciated.
