Default Brake line flare - Bubble / Double?

As stated in a different post, I'm replacing a portion of a right rear brake line. I rented a double flaring tool kit ....but I see that Saturns use bubble flares? Can I use this kit and make it work, or should I buy a bubble flare kit? Brakes are too important to not get it right!
...
Thanks,

Mike

If you are splicing two lines a double flare with a flare union is fine.

Default Re: Brake line flare - Bubble / Double?

Bubble flares can be accurately 'faked' with doing a half-double flare. Get the first half of the double done, then just don't fully crimp it down (don't crimp the 2nd part down much at all).

My '00 Silverado 2500's hydroboost assist couldn't tell the difference, weak vacuum boost on a lightweight 4cyl won't have a snowball's chance in a hot place of noticing. Went over the scales pulling 13k lbs that way too, no problems with leaks or stopping (100% truck brakes, no trailer brakes).

Either way, if you're splicing one line into another it doesn't matter what the car use's...just what the fittings/line you bought use.
