Question 2000 LW1 Engine Swaps?

Hey!! New guy here. I have a 2000 LW1 with the 2.2 (L61) ecotec and was wondering what engines would play nicely with this car. Since the LW1 is essentially a rebadged Saab 9-5 with a GM engine instead, could I swap in a Saab engine? Specificly the 2.3t? How about a 3400 (3.4 L) from a grand am or Alero? The engine bay has plenty of room I would think. What about the ECM and all that? Would everything work well together? I hear the 2.4s can cost as much as I paid for the car and the 3.0s are fancy paperweights. I'm kind of partial to the 3.4 swap. Let me know what you think, any help is appreciated.

Before you can comment "ugh another one of these posts" or "any swap is possible with a big enough budget" please keep in mind I couldn't find anything about swapping a wagon on this website. And yes, you productive ******* any swap is possible. But as I'm driving a Saturn, I think we can all assume that I do have financial limits. I don't need the car for commuting either.

Any help is appreciated!!!! ✌👍
