Nothing today, but over the past couple weeks.......

Finished running all new nicopp brake lines from the master cylinder to each wheel. Replaced all the original brake hoses with Goodridge braided stainless steel hoses. New rear wheel cylinders, shoes and brake hardware. Put in a new thermostat since the car was running 20F colder than it should be and got a fresh change of coolant as well. Found out where my oil is going to, the pan is leaking and needs to be resealed. I always thought it was a typical oil burner, not so much apparently. And finally, gave it a nice sudsy pressure washing. Next up is a windshield replacement since the OE one is really chipped up and getting hard to see out of.

Not much, Pretty much why I kept it under a cover for the last few years until I could build myself a proper place to work on it.

What did I do to my S-Series today?

I had to replace my tires, as they were already worn out. I ordered a new set from 4WheelOnline, and all of it arrived in no time.

Drove my 95 Sw2 to do some errands.
Going to finish the headliner soon, and also turn up the boost on my 95 Sl2 this weekend.

Adjusted the parking brake cable yesterday. Was getting to the point I could barely hold the car on hills and I knew I had the adjustment nut pretty high up. Tightened the nut and it holds the car well for now. I'm hoping that it was just going through some new cable break-in stretching and doesn't continue to get worse. They aren't exactly the easiest things to change. (Although, I suppose I would get pretty good at it if I have to do them every couple years )

Had to change my phone mounting area to better suit my new phone. I was using a pop socket with my old phone and actually grew to really like them for holding and mounting onto things, like in the car. I tried using a pop socket with my new phone, but it’s actually a little smaller than my previous one. (iPhone 7 - iPhone 12 mini) Trying to use one actually made the phone harder to use. I also wouldn’t be able to easily use the built in magnets for charging/mounting so it kinda worked out anyway.

Got this this wall mount puck off Amazon that blends into the console really well. Had my pop socket mount between the seat and console to make it a little easier to pull in and out without looking. The magnets are way easier to line up blind so I can put it in front of the seat now where it makes more sense. I also decided to try out a magnetic vent mount for GPS use. I couldn’t use them before due to the weight of everything pulling the vent too low. Putting the phone at an unusable angle. That still happens, but my temperature gauge getting in the way actually turns into a benefit. 90’s car vents definitely weren’t designed to hold smartphones, but this works pretty well. Vent mounts also have the bonus of blowing A/C directly onto your phone instead of baking in the windshield.

Finally got an alignment at KalTire for the SL. Finally got tired of having the steering wheel canted 15 degrees to the left while driving. Dude said the car felt a bit spongy but I haven't noticed anything. It certainly wasn't as bad as before when the car was nearly undriveable.

Today was new air filter day. The old one wasn't terrible. I don't drive through much dust, and I can go years without really needing one, but I found it on Wholesale Closeout on Rockauto, so why not? It's another Champion Labs, but arrived in their Luberfiner brand.
