Rough Idle Wont Stay Running

I have 95 Sl 1.9 SOHC 145K 5 Spd I replaced the head gasket and intake manifold gasket, while I had the Intake off I cleaned the TB. I reassembled the motor filled the fluids. Primed the fuel system its starts but runs very rough and dies about 3-5 seconds later any ideas?

Replaced the original engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) yet? If not, use the Forum Jump below to find the How-to library about it. The original faulty one fails and tends to run the engine rich all the time.

No, I havent but I will I broke it when replacing the gasket didnt think much of frankensteined it back together and put it back in. Any idea of cost?

I replaced the sensor

and same trouble

only now it starts but takes throttle to keep it running starts very sluggish but once reved past 2k it smoothes out. While it is running the coolant light is on but no Check Engine.

The coolant light is from the float inside the coolant reservoir sticking or broken; remove the container for a thorough sloshing of HOT water and detergent to remove built up scum that may be causing the float to stick.

Were the plugs and wires ever replaced? Ignition module and coils removed and cleaned of corrosion including the mounting bolts? The ignition system is grounded so a clean corrosion free ignition module/coils ensures less misfiring from the ignition system.

When the ects was replaced did you check the two-wire connector for corrosion? This corrosion has the same effect as never replacing the older plastic ects - rich running all the time.

Update I replaced The Connector Body and my problem magically went away added a gal of 93 and its all good. Thanks Everyone For The Help
