All, I have an ion with ese codes. The car is loud when driving on the highway. Also occasionally the indicator for the emergency brake comes on. Any ideas?
A few days ago I got P0700 and P0751 and cleared them just to see if it happened again, it did but with P0974 instead of P0751 |

Figured the noise and the break light thing. Now for the trans codes. Seems like this forum isn't as busy as it used to be.

As you may or may not know, Saturn was discontinued in 2010 so those fearing lack of parts and little value of a vehicle are the first to move on to other vehicles. Those remaining have accepted this and continue to maintain Saturns until major damage occurs or repairs are too costly. That's just the way it is.
Did you eliminate loss of xmission oil (leaks) that can contribute to error codes? All those error codes are related to electronically controlled xmissions using computers, sensors and solenoids controlling hydraulic pressures for smooth shifts. Trouble free until problems pop up. My limited knowledge tells me shift solenoids are the weak points (I have an intermittent xmission error code that comes and goes before and after replacing xmission oil and filter). Some shift solenoids operate in pulse width mode (pwm) where the solenoid is neither on nor off but pulsed to vary valve opening to vary pressures. Unfortunately, all you can do is try replacing xmission oil and filter as part of maintenance and possibly fix this issue as the least cost effective repair. If the problem continues then you may have to address advanced troubleshooting to determine if the shift solenoids need to be replaced as well as other parts to restore xmission operation without error codes. And you haven't eliminated possible wiring issues. At this point, your alternatives are diy repairs with or without service manuals or bring to GM or xmission repair shop. |
