Default Help! L200 Won't Stay Running..

my wife has a 2002 or 2000 l200..
34k mileage
2.2 liter engine
she went to start it yesterday and it was completely dead.
tried jumping it and it turned over, but died after about 2-3 seconds.
took the battery out and got it checked. it came back replace battery..
bought new battery & replaced it the next day. the car started and ran for about 3-4 seconds and died again.. everytime it starts, it runs for about 3-4 seconds and dies..
is it the fuel filter, fuel pump, alternator?
has ne1 else had this kind of problem?
any help asap would be greatly appreciated.

thanx in advance

I had this problem in a 1990 Accord. Turned out to be the wiring harness that goes from the ignition switch down the steering column. Strange, but that was the problem.

Your security light isn't on is it? I would guess in order of increasing difficulty the fuel pump relay then the fuel filter. After leaving the ignition key in the ON/RUN position try depressing the fuel rail schrader valve (cover with a rag and expect a healthy spray of fuel) for fuel spray. The fuel pump only runs for 2-3 seconds with the ignition on w/o the engine running, long enough to prime the fuel lines. No fuel spray may indicate a faulty fuel pump relay. A healthy spray means at least fuel pump and pressure is available for starting. Its running that seems to be the problem and can be the same fuel pump relay, the crank position sensor, and the fuel filter restricting fuel flow. When the engine runs the CPS will continuously generate signals to allow the ECM to run the fuel pump, ignition system and injectors.
