Happy Ever hear of the Olympic edition Joseph Abboud S-series???

Posted in the Saturn S-series FB group, 2 members have found 2 Gray, SL2's, ~00 year, with USA Olympic symbol embroidered in the head rest and a few badges. Both found in junk yards I believe.

A search of this entire forum for Abboud netted zero results.

Google shows a Abboud Buick Regal, but nothing on Saturns.

Likely just a 1 off promo thing for the '01 Winter Olympics if it were an '00 or '01 model.

Could just be the pictures but while the stitching job doesn't look "bad" it doesn't look like OEM quality either.

2 different people found these cars, so at least 2 of them. There were floor mats also.

I thought possibly someone grabbed the stuff off a regal, but how likely 2 people did that both with gray SL2's?

At 0:28 in the accompanying video of the Abboud Regal, the seats and headrests don't look like those in the OP's picture.

So the designer Joseph Abboud made 100 or so GM cars, most were regals, and there were a few other models. 2 00 SL2's were found with these badges, seats, and floor mats.

The seats posted from the SL2's do not match the regals. The regals are pretty well documented.

Did a little looking and it appears there may have been Joseph Abboud Olympic Editions in some cars other than Regal and Saturn given to 100 U.S. Olympic athletes.

From the attached article, nameplates included:

"Cadillac DeVille, GMC Envoy, Oldsmobile Alero,Pontiac Grand Am, Pontiac Grand Prix, Pontiac Montana Minivan, Buick Regal and Saturn"

https://www.latimes.com/socal/daily-...789-story.html

This is the first I've heard of them, though. Very interesting bit of trivia, if nothing else.

It is quite interesting so little is known about it, most don't believe it.

But with 2 different people that found the cars in junk yards, with pictures, and then a couple minor mentions, makes it pretty cool.
