A/C Condenser Fan Direction

Sorry again if this has been in another tread, which I assume it has. I thought the condenser fan was supposed to pull air in. Mine pushes out from the condenser to the front. That would fight the air trying to get in. Anyway, seems backward. As stated in other posts of mine, my phone won't search the Forums for some reason. Thanks.

Our 3.0L V6 engines use two cooling fans; looking into the front grille - left side fan in front of condenser coil should force air into the c-coil/radiator, right side fan behind the radiator pulls air thru c-coil/radiator. Service manual descriptions use terms pusher and puller. Parts descriptions may use these two terms to ensure ordering the correct replacement.

The 4 cylinder L series cars have the same fans as the v6 cars. Fdryer has described the system correctly.

How is there a Left Side, Right Side looking from the front ? I have a Front, and Rear.

Ok, left front fan in front of c-coil blows air thru, right rear fan pulls air.

FWIW, the condenser fan is called a "pusher" fan, and the radiator fan is called a "puller" fan. It seems unlikely that your condenser fan is moving a significant amount of air forward (if at all) away from the vehicle. However, if that is actually true then you've got a bad condenser fan.
