Default Speedo Off

Last night I discovered that my speedometer was off. It was reading about 4mph slower than I was going. I used google maps speed, my radar detector and a speedometer app to prove this. I need to find a way to fix this. The tires are the correct size too.

Anyone else have this issue?

Not expert on Saturn Sky with few Sky owers posting here. Perhaps searching out Pontiac Solstice forums and other Sky forums may present a wealth of info and/or owners sharing issues, repairs, etc to ask.

In general and because I have service manuals for my L300, the body control module does all the electronic work the engine control module (ECM) and xmission control module (TCM in some vehicles) doesn't perform. Things like factory security, DRL, interior/exterior lighting, remote communications, instrument panel gauges/warning indicators except abs/tc and airbags (each has their own module/indicator) and gateway for all modules sending error messages to the bcm connected to the OBD II port. Without service manuals to refer to specific functions like speedometer, there may be a speed sensor in the xmission sending signals to the bcm to drive the speedo or a wheel speed sensor signal to the bcm, driving the speedo. Most Saturn instrument panel gauges are electronic, receiving signals from the bcm. It's not likely for bcm failure as there would be other major issues pointing to the bcm. And not likely to be the speedometer unless it was change/altered/modified or other mods were performed that you're aware of (or not).
