A 1st gen SL1 that looks like someone was using the hood as a trampoline, and an SL1 that seems to have hit something taller than the bumper, ripping the upper frame rails off.

Either a slow slide on a slick slope into a garbage truck or showgirls psing on the hood.

I see a perfectly good exhaust down pipe that has a flange clocked like the 23450 MagnaFlow I received for my DOHC.

This is a great topic, keep it going!
I hope no one was injured in these mishaps. Allow me to speak for the entire community in that we appreciate their donation to the spare parts bin.

This SL2 was at U.P.A.P aurora. No evidence of an accident, the vehicle appears to be in remarkable condition. The aluminum valve cover is still there after a month. I know that the DOCH aluminum valve covers seem to be in demand here, should I try to pull them before they are all gone? are there any other parts that anyone would suggest pulling from s series even when do not immediately need them?

This 1992 SC2 was somewhat fresh at U.P.A.P aurora, it looks to have been in some kind of accident. The DF corner has taken a hit, the roof is dented, and the trunk was unable to close. My best guess is that it hit something (maybe a tree) that fell on top of it...

This SC2 was at LKQ aurora. No sign of any impact. Again I ask: Is there anything that I should get whenever I see it? (while they are still available.) ( for me to get away with it, it would need to be compact (to keep my parents happy), or in demand, to sell quickly)

I can’t think of anything small. The “valuable” parts are the body panels. —All things that are difficult to store and very expensive to ship.
The fog light & rear defroster switch cluster, on top of the radio, is valuable to someone who wants to add fog lights.
At some point, the universal joint shaft that connects the steering column to the rack & pinion will be rare.
If the drive axles are good, they might be for eBay. However, the small amount of salt corrosion and the constant Colorado hill-climbing might put more wear on cv joints...I am guessing.
If the car was owned by a female, the driver’s seat fabric might not be trashed beyond recognition. But, by the time a car reaches the 3rd owner, things start looking grungy and the seats are full of cigarette burn holes. The seat fabric can withstand a washing machine and look new again...

The “NV7” Variable Assist Power Steering Pump has value.

The metal valve cover is small and easy to remove. There is a buyer in the forum looking for one.

I would be thrilled if you could get an aluminum valve cover for me next time you come across one in decent shape. I just sent a PM your way.

Have 291K on my orig SL2, and want to get a few more miles out of it.

Thank you,

If you use your imagination, the online catalogs at Paragon Corvette Reproductions will give you a good example of the types of parts that Saturn owners will be looking for...

I found photographs from a month ago at UPAP aurora that I thought I had lost, here they are, starting with this SL1. The ODO only showed 63409 miles... I suspect that the cracked fender was damaged in an accident...

If they paid 11 grand for the, I'm guessing 95 SL2, that's under 3c per mile.... And how many miles do folks average out of their electric cars?

I went to UPAP colorado springs on monday, there were lots of saturns there.
This SL1 says "roller" on the window, normally meaning that it did not run. The cowl is covered in pine needles, leading me to believe that it sat for a long time. 152133 miles on the ODO, apparently indestructible manual transmission, I believe it starved to death.
